| CM lauds armed forces on its flag day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 8 On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has lauded the armed forces describing them epitome of devotion and dedication. The Chief Minister said that many of the brave soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice of their lives for the cause of strengthening unity and integrity of the country and shown highest degree of patriotism. The Chief Minister donated Rs. 21,000 towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund here this morning. Those who called on Mr. Azad included Director J&K Sainik Welfare Brig. (Retd) K. S. Kotwal, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Jammu Lt. Col. (Retd) Karan Singh and Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Udhampur Lt. Col. (Retd) Man Singh. They also performed ceremonial pinning of token flag on the coat of Chief Minister. Mr. Azad also unveiled new year's Armed Forces Flag Day calendar on the occasion. He said that a cabinet sub-committee has been constituted to look into the demands of ex-servicemen, adding that the meeting of the cabinet sub-committee would be held soon under his chairmanship to look into the demands to resolve all pending issues. |
