Jammu | Dec 8
The recovery of the body of a selection grade constable Dalip Kumar of Muthi from the canal near Paloura has raised several eye brows.
The deceased posted at Kanachak was missing since December 1 and his body was recovered from the canal yesterday and later handed over to the family members for performing last rites, after conducting postmortem. The police after registering a case has started investigation in the mysterious death of the police cop.
The sources said the deceased was transferred from Khour police station some three months back and was posted at Kanachak police station and on December 1 after performing his duty, he boarded a Sumo vehicle to reach home but he neither reached home not returned back to his duties. After having failed to reach home, his family members informed the police and registered a missing report in this regard. Police is reported to have traced the vehicle and interrogated the Sumo driver, who during interrogation, is reported to have told police that he dropped the said person at Muthi and moved towards Jammu.
Sources said last evening the local people spotted his body and informed the police. The recovery of the body of a police constable in suspicious circumstances has raised many questions. While some say that he committed suicide others of the opinion that he might have been murdered before throwing his body into the canal.
The Police, on examination of the body, is reported to have found some injury marks on his body, suggesting that he might have been murdered. However, the police has taken up the investigation and the truth will come to fore only after police concludes its investigation.
