Mangat asks people reject divisive forces, strengthen peace, harmony
Says Azad govt created history by marvelous achievements

Underscoring the need for strengthening the hands of government for fast development across the state, Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma has appealed the people to get involved in the implementation of welfare schemes. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant against vested interests trying to exploit for political mileage.
Addressing largely attended public gatherings at Karalian Ramgarh and Butta Nagar Jammu on Sunday, Mr. Sharma said that no one would be allowed to vitiate the hard earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the state. “The people have given mandate against divisive forces for strengthening secular and democratic forces besides strengthening peace, amity and unity. The government is fully alive to its constitutional obligations and will not compromise on this account”, he said.
Mangat said that Azad led government accorded the highest priority to peace and development in the state. He regretted that certain elements were trying to play petty politics on sensitive issues but warned that people would not be befooled by emotional blackmailing. The people of J&K have made supreme sacrifices to ensure peace, unity and communal harmony and added that these sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste, he said.
Sharma appealed to all political parties and other organizations to stand guard against the temptations to make peace subservient to political interests.
Saying that Azad led government is pro people and committed to upgrade the basic amenities and respond developmental needs of the people, he said. “It is due to this fact that all the three regions are getting their due share for equitable development and are marching fastly towards prosperity”, he added.
Sharma said “Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken various bold and historical decisions for fast development across the state. He said government not only implemented Wazir Commission Report but has gone beyond that and created new eight districts, 12 tehsils and three sub divisions across the state. He said education is the foundation on which the destiny of a nation is laid’. He said hundreds of school were opened and upgraded besides scores of new degree colleges and ITIs established for providing job oriented education to youth. Free text books uniforms and mid day meals are also being provided to the students, he said.
Mangat said that special attention is also being to healthcare facilities and all the district, sub- district hospitals PHC buildings are being constructed in a phased manner while as bed strength in the health institutions is being upgraded alongwith modern gadgets.
Sharma said that in the coming months more development programmes would be initiated to boost development in the state. He said government contemplates to formulate a separate plan for the development of villages for which the central government would provide funds. He said within next 4 to 5 years a development profile of rural Jammu and Kashmir would be changed with each village getting road connectivity, electricity and drinking water. He asked the people to work together for the successful implementation of the development scheme launched by the government.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister assured that all genuine demands would be mitigated at the earliest.
Former MLAs Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, Mrs. Swarn Lata and other senior congress leaders also addressed the gatherings and highlighted the achievements registered by Azad government during last two years across the state. They appealed the people to strengthen the hands of government by giving their wholehearted support for making J&K a prosperous state.
