| Awareness programme on excellence in higher education concludes | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 9 A two-day NAAC sponsored awareness programme on Assessment and Accreditation and Post-Accreditation interactive meet organized by State Level Quality Assurance Coordination Committee, Department of Higher Education concluded here at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The programme began with the presentation of accredited colleges of the city included G.G.M Science College, Government M.AM College, Government College for Women, Parade, Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and MIER College of Education by their respective IQAC coordinators. At the start of programme, Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education, Mr. Pramod Jain spoke on pertinence of achieving quality and excellence in Higher Education besides apprising the participating delegates of the means and ways of achieving global standards. An interactive session with the Director NAAC, Mr. V.S Prasad and Assistant Advisor NAAC, Mr. B.S Ponmudiraj was also held in which participants discussed various useful guidelines for further and consistent improvement of the institutions of Higher Learning. Prof. V.S. Prasad Director NAAC accompanied by Sh. R.K. Sharma Special Secretary Higher Education, J&K Govt. also visited Trikuta Group of Colleges specially selected for NAAC Accreditation among the affiliated colleges of Jammu University. He was received by Dr. Roop Lal Sharma Chairman of Trikuta Group of Colleges and Dr. Gayatri Gupta Principal, Trikuta Degree College. Mr. Prasad had a round of all the colleges. He was highly impressed by the Computer Labs and other infrastructure created by the management of Trikuta Group of Colleges. During interaction with the staff Mr. Prasad was briefed about the quality education provided to student community and its performance viz. a viz. to other colleges affiliated to Jammu University by its Chairman Dr. Roop Lal Sharma. Earlier, Principal of the College, Prof. Veena Gupta welcomed the distinguished guests. Director Colleges, Dr. N.D Wani also spoke on the occasion and gave valuable inputs. |
