Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 9 The Akhand Yoga held its 15th One-day Workshop on the ‘Secret of True Living’ on “Personality Development in Adolescents and Children”, at Brahman Sabha, Parade, in which of children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18 years, along with their parents and guardians, participated, Dr. Sunil Vasishth, Founder of Akhand Yoga along with the members of Akhand Yoga conducted the Workshop, while Dr. Brijbala Vasishth, Patron, Akhand Yoga, and Director, Vasishth Ayurved Center and Heart Clinic, presided over. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vasishth said, “Most of the problems facing the world today can be addressed a great deal if people develop a broader outlook and a positive attitude. While this may be a relatively, harder task for many grown ups, owing to their preformed notions and fixed convictions they develop down the years, it can be attained with relative ease in children and adolsencents, on account of their pure, fresh minds, and caring, compassionate attitude.” “However, keeping in view a high degree of exposure and mental development of today’s youngsters, the whole issue needs to be handled with utmost care, with old approaches of coercing, enticing, and giving false explanations to youngsters to make them comply with one’s viewpoint, fast losing their effectiveness, the only way out left is to adopt a more scientific, sympathetic, and systematic approach for the development of a perfect personality in children and adolescents. It is with this view in mind, that Akhand Yoga has decided to organize a series of Workshops on personality Development in adolescents and children”, Dr. Vasishth added. The major feature of the workshop was scientific sessions on Basics of Physical and Mental Health, Environmental Protection, Techniques to Enhance Memory and Mental Concentration Interaction and Communication, Body Language, Fun Activities and Meditation. An important event in the workshop was the Dental Check up of the children and adolescents and Demonstration for Oral Hygiene by Dr. Nidhi Khajuria. In addition Dr. Shashvita Abrol, MO (ISM) and Dr. Vinod Sharma, senior, MO (ISM) conducted a general health check up for the participants. O.P. Sharma, a laughter expert, made the audience double up as he demonstrated various types of laughter. In addition, he presented a small performance on water conservation, too. Earlier, welcoming the participants Pawanesh Abrol, organizer, said, “In order to keep pace with the fast moving 21st century world, it is imperative on us all to create humans who are more practical, constructive, and free of the human weakness of olden times, while Anu Kohli, Project Director, emphasized the need to organize more such personality development workshops in order to acquaint youngsters with the latest trends in the world.
