| Dy. Mayor inaugurates ‘Exhibition of sculptures’ at Kala Kendra | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 9 Exhibition of sculptures by Amrik Singh Namdhari organized by J&K academy of art, culture and languages (JKAACL) on the eve of golden Jubilee celebrations of academy was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor, Dharmvir Sigh Jamwal here today. Exhibition is dedicated to the renowned sculptor late V.R. Khajuria. Speaking on the occasion, Jamwal congratulates Namdhari for his excellence contribution in the field of sculpture who has acclaimed National Zonal and State level awards on different occasions. He also appreciated Secretary Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, for organizing such exhibition in series to celebrate the 50 years of Academy’s establishment. He also applauded the contribution of grate sculptor V.R. Khajuria who is also makes the local aware of this form of art. While welcoming the guests and artist community, Dr. Masoodi, said that since Oct, 2007. Academy initiated a special package of programmes in every field of culture, literature, visual and performing arts. In addition to its routine programs to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Year which commenced from Oct, 2007. He also informed that the artists, painters and sculpture have been invited to organize solo exhibitions prof. Lalit Gupta conducted the proceedings while Dr. Taran Singh presented vote of thanks. Among others present on the occasion includes. T.S. Batra Mushtaq Kak, Amar Singh Kuka, Arvinder Singh Amn, Savita Bakshi and large number of artists, Painters and prominent citizen of the region were present. |
