As part of Army ‘OP SADBHAVANA’, the Gurj Division organized a ‘ Health Camp for Women’ from 26 November to 07 December at Bani and Machhedi areas of Kathua. Women and adolescent girls from Machhedi, Nathi, Uroda, Loai, Badnota, Sadnota, Duggan, Najot, Nangala and other far-flung areas attended the camp. The chief guest GOC Gurj Division while addressing the gathering, highlighted that the Army has endeavored to ensure that all women and children get medical security and receive timely treatment. The health related issues covered were menarche and pubertal change in girls sexual health (do’s and don’ts), pregnancy, delivery conduct, safety precautions during delivery in a village setting, breast feeding care of the neonate, nutrition and immunization. Sex education including awareness on AIDS and its prevention, and the civil of foeticide were stressed upon. |
