| 10-wkt win for Press Club XI in Champions Trophy | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 10: Press Club XI registered a big 10-wicket victory over TDCC Akhnoor to enter the semi-finals of the 5th JK Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament organized by the Talab Tilloo Cricket Club at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, TDCC Akhnoor bowled out for 64 runs in 14.4 overs of the 25 overs match, which, in reply Press Club chased in mere nine overs without loss.
Sunny and Govil were top scorers from TDCC Akhnoor with 17 and 12 runs respectively while extras added maximum 19 runs to the total. Rana was most successful bowler from Press Club with three for three while Irshad also clinched three wickets for 11 runs. Amit, Parveen and Dogra shared a piece each.
Later, chasing the target, Press Club reached the required total making 66 runs in nine overs with all wickets intact. Parvin Singh was top scorer with unbeaten 46 including seven boundaries while Irshad contributed 13.
Meanwhile, according to the organizers the next match of the tournament shall be played on December 12. |
