Divisional Commissioner, Sudhanshu Pandey convened a high level meeting of officers to review the arrangements of forthcoming Republic Day celebration-2008 here this afternoon.
Among others, District Development Commissioner Jammu, Hirdesh Kumar Singh, DIG Jammu-Kathua range L. Mohanty, SSP Jammu, S. Parminder Singh, Chief Engineers of PHE, Vinod Goswami, Commissioner JMC, Vinod Sharma, Joint Director Information, S.K Sharma and other senior officers of Army, Air Force, Youth Services and Sports, Police, PHE, PDD, JMC, Health, Education were present.
To make the programme a grand success at MAM stadium, Pandey asked the officers of Police, Army, Air Force, Youth Services and Sports, PHE, PDD, JMC, Health, PWD, Fire Services, Information Department to make foolproof arrangements of their respective departments at the venue of Republic Day celebrations so that the general masses do not face any inconvenience.
He asked the army authorities to intimate the name of the Parade Commander besides IGP Jammu Zone also to intimate the name of Deputy Parade Commander. He asked the Director Youth Services and Sports to submit the list of Deputy Parade Commanders of schools by or before December 20 in the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu. He directed the Police, Army, BSF and School authorities to arrange Bands on the occasion.
It was informed in the meeting that Raj Bhawan, Assembly Complex, High Court Complex, Divisional Commissioner Office, Shahedi Chowk, MLA Hostel, Central Park Gandhi Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Old High Court Complex, Police headquarters, Zonal Police Headquarters, Circuit House, Guest Houses, Town Hall, Fly-over, behind Civil Secretariat, Satwari Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Bahu Fort, Bahu Plaza, Kala Kendra would be illuminated by various agencies including PDD. A variety of cultural programme would be presented at the venue.
He asked the SRTC, CRPF, JKAP, PCR authorities to arrange adequate buses for bringing the general public at the venue. He issued on-the-sport instructions to H&P and Manager M. A. Stadium to make sitting arrangements for VVIPs and VIPs. For Mangal Dhwani, he asked the Joint Director Information to arrange PAS at Auquaf Building, District Police Line, Old Secretariat, Bahu Plaza, Town Hall and High Court.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner asked the Army, BSF, District Police, JKP to also arrange Beating the Retreat function at M A M stadium in usual manner as per past practice. |
