| 4th Governing Body meeting of ATMA held at Rajouri | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Dec 10 The 4th Governing Body meeting of the "Agriculture Technology Management Agency" (ATMA) was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Rajouri Sheikh Rafiq Ahmed here this morning. The sectoral head/officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Cooperatives, Fisheries, Sericulture, Rural Development, SKUAST-J and Forests etc besides members from the Farmers Organizations, NGOs and other stake holders attended the meeting. The members of the Governing Body ATMA approved the "Strategic Research and Extension Plan" (SREP) of the district and authenticated it as a plan document. The SREP has been accepted as a basic for agricultural development in the district. The SREP document was recommended by the management committee of ATMA for approval by the Governing Body. The SREP has been developed with a bottom-up approach and the importance has been given to the farming community's views in the plan document. The SREP has been prepared and developed after dividing district into five Agro-Ecological Situations (AESs) and 10 representative villages namely Rajdhani, Dhoke, Kewal, Topa, Rajnagar, Doongi-Brahmana, Palam, Phalni, Nonial, Thandapani and Solki were selected from the eight blocks giving maximum representation to the AESs. The District Agriculture Officer Rajouri deliberated upon different aspects of the SREP document and the centrally sponsored scheme "Support to State Extension Programme for Extension Reforms". |
