Lure to earn easy money is, no doubt a human instinct but this instinct is being used as tool to fish out hard earned money by some foxy elements who bait their prey through internet.
Don’t surprise if you get a comical message in your inbox that ‘you have won the US$ 1.00 or US$ 2.5 million but beware before celebrations as it could be nothing but a bait for you thus better to ignore before going too ahead especially when you have never purchased any online lottery/lotto scheme. Otherwise you too would yourself in new headlines as one housewife in Nagpur got herself after being duped of Rs 91,000 in well established Foxy Trade i.e. cyber crime.
Talking to Early Times some youths and internet savvy in Jammu also shared their experiences on Internet and admitted that they too have received some mails similar to what one housewife in Nagpur received and become the victim of international fraud.
It is to mention one housewife, Urmila Sanjiv Wasnik, of Nagpur was duped to the tune of Rs 91,380 after she came across a message on internet from John Smith, Jacob Adams, Smith Morgan and Peter that she has won a lottery worth USD One Lakh and price money transfer was facing some problems from customs. She was asked to deposit Rs 91,380 IR with an account number in Bank in Nagpur and then she found herself a victim of an international fraud as no amount of lottery price was sent to her.
One Atul Dabe a net café owner student told that such lucrative mails about being hot seat ‘as the winner of big easy bucks’ are pouring in his inbox from foreign dominions and at times they are so lucratively and tempting that I too feel too reply but ‘Good God’, They always helped me to remain down and be sane enough to fall in the trap.
Despite tempting language I have never fell into the trap thank God, he said.
Another Internet savvy and pharmaceutical trader Shakeel also said that he too has a junk of such lucrative mails from alien email IDs which I had never been used but informing me that I had been declared as winner of ‘Big Bumper Prize’.
Further he continued, “Frankly speaking at first instance I was tempted and did as the mail asked me to do but when they asked me to send some money I simply came out of the dominion feeling something foul and got my self rescued otherwise I would also be counting my money as Urmila.”
Majority of the Internet surfers observed that once you use your email account it becomes open globally and spam mails start pouring in your email but it depends upon the user how he /she responds to mails. A big chunk from these internet savvy persons also underlined- next time you sit infront of computer ‘brush aside the greed of easy money if you wanna save your hard earned money from the racket of online swindlers.’
