| Qazi returns to office | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 10: After three months of acrimony and protests, the embittered Minister of the Peoples Democratic Party Qazi Mohammad Afzal today joined his office in the civil secretariat.
Qazi has been keeping away from the office after the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad withdrew his Forest portfolio on September 2 this year. This had led to a fresh round of controversy between the two coalition partners and Qazi had sent his resignation in protest.
However, as the leadership of Congress and the PDP send out messages of ironing out their differences, Qazi today joined his office in the civil secretariat immediately after Muzaffar Hussain Baig was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister is yet to make it clear whether he has restored the Forest department to Qazi or not. Qazi's department of Housing and Urban Development too is presently with the Minister of State Ajaz Ahmed Khan. |
