Mufti visits BGSBU, interacts with faculty, students

Rajouri | Dec 17: Former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today visited the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri and had an interaction with the faculty and students.
It may be mentioned here that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the founder Chancellor of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University as this University was established when he was the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mufti expressed surprise and happiness at the speed with which the development has taken place on the campus. He visited the Sabrang Square – the colourful shopping centre, the administrative block, & the Schools of Management and Computer Sciences. He was highly appreciative of the dynamism of the University administration, and expressed pride in the choice he had made by appointing Masud A. Chaudhary as the founder Vice Chancellor, who he said has more than justified his appointment.
In the Centre for Biodiversity Studies Mufti interacted with the women trainees who are receiving training in Vermicompositing and Medicinal plant cultivation under the Department of Biotechnology sponsored project. Each trainee in the project gets a monthly stipend of Rs 800/-
Mufti had prolonged interaction session with the teaching staff and students of the university. He complemented them for the rapid strides the University has made during the last 2 ½ years. He was particularly appreciative of the cent percent placement the MBA pass outs of last year had secured, many of them in prestigious companies. He hoped that this will be repeated year after year so as to transform Rajouri-Poonch belt economically. He exhorted the audience to work with zeal to advance the prestige of the University to take full advantage of the leadership of the Vice Chancellor. He said a day is not far when students from other parts of the country and from across the border will come to Rajouri for receiving education. He praised the plural character of the University and said it is an asset you should treasure.
Mufti Syed accompanied by Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University visited the Central University and the DELNET facility which connects this University with thousands of libraries in the country and abroad. Such state of the art modern technologies have helped the University to evolve desirable academic atmosphere.
