Khoda calls for professionalism, dynamic, humanism in Police Force
Addresses annual Commandants Conference

Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has called upon J&K Police Force to achieve excellence as a capable, disciplined and people friendly force. Personal dynamism, professional skill and bravery important ingredients to achieve this goal", he added.
Inaugurating the state level 7th Annual Commandants Conference-2007 of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police at Armed Police Headquarters here this morning, Director General of Police said that jawans and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police role as front runner in anti-insurgency operations was commendable. "You have rendered stupendous service to save life and prosperity of people", he said
Khoda said "organizational capability of Armed Police, has grown over the years would continue to grow in strength and stature".
The armed component of Jammu and Kashmir Police comprises 25 armed/IR battalions including 11 Armed and 14 IRP battalions with 24,863 personnel.
Khhoda said that 10 battalions of armed and IR were deployed for operations in the counter insurgency grid in remote and rural areas of the state besides 735 officers and jawans deployed exclusively with operational components. He said while doing the onerous task of taking the terrorist head on build constant operational pressure on them and weaken the terror infrastructure, police force was also enabling protection of human rights and minimizing the collateral damage during the operations.
Khoda thanked the Armed Headquarter for organizing such a conference and called for upkeep traditional values of the police organization and achieves new highs in professional qualities.
Earlier, in his address, the Inspector General of Police, Sheikh Owais Ahmed welcomed the senior police offices and delegates and threw slight on the aims and objectives of the conference. He said despite heavy deployment and engagement of jawans for combating militancy we have organized 32 training courses during 2007 and imparted training to 3,545 men and officers in weapon and tactics, law and order control, crowds control, platoon commander course, compute handling, networking and internet, coy clerk work, ceremonial guard, inspection and supervision, sword drill etc.
Among others the conference was attended by Vigilance Commissioner, Dr. Ashok Bhan, Inspectors General of Police, Mr. K. Rajandera Kumar, Mr. P. L. Gupta, Mr. J. A. Makhdoomi, Mr. Dilbagh Singh, Mr. Ashok Gupa, Raja Aijaz Ali, Mr. Zahood Hussain Chisti, AIG (P), Mr. Riyaz Ahmed and other police officers.
