| Suspended police personal, transport agent arrested in assault case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

Lakhanpur police today arrested two persons are suspended police personnel and other transport agent in assaulting a SRTC driver.
According to reports the driver identified as Sham Lal S/o Hans Raj of Raipur, Jammu was driving the govt. vehicle with passengers from Pathakote to Jammu, when he was beaten up by suspended police personnel namely Pawan kumar of ward no. 2, Kathua and transport agent Makhnu Sharma of Hira Nagar. The passengers on board made hue and cry and informed the police, which immediately reached the spot and took injured driver to local hospital were from he was shifted to GMC hospital Jammu.
Both the accused fled away from the spot an motorcycle, which they were riding. But police arrested them and registered case against u/s 307/34 under FIR no. 68/2004. Reports said the reason behind assault is not giving ride to them on the road.
As per source the suspended police personal has a criminal record, and for the same reason has put under suspension.
