| AIFF observers approve infrastructure for Santosh Trophy | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 19: Finding the required infrastructure in place at both venues of Jammu and Srinagar, the two-member team of observers from All India Football Federation (AIFF) today returned satisfied. Expressing their contentment over preparations at two venues of MA Stadium and GGM Science College here the observers have indirectly conveyed to the J&K State Sports Council to be ready for hosting the 62nd edition of the Santosh Trophy in the state in May 2008. Speaking to the visiting SAN reporter at GGM Science College, vice-president of the AIFF and one of the observers, Subrotta Dutta said, “the state has been able to raise the required infrastructure in the given deadline, so hopefully the event would be allotted to J&K in December 23 meeting of the Federation scheduled to be held at New Delhi”. In reply to a question, Dutta said, “this time we are going to submit a positive report to the Federation”. Earlier, the observers were to address the media persons at MA Stadium at 1 pm but due to their delayed arrival at Jammu, both of them straightway went to the venues. And, after inspecting the grounds and changing rooms they (observers) left for New Delhi at 3.30 pm. It may recalled that at the team of observers had expressed similar views at Srinagar yesterday after paying a visit to Polo Ground and Bakshi Stadium, other two venues for the national tournament. |
