| Walkover helps Gandhi Nagar College enter final of Kho-Kho | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 19: The casual approach of the city colleges towards sports is quite evident from the fact that the Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar today entered into the finals of inter-college kho-kho competitions getting a walkover.
The team failing to arrive at the venue even after confirming their participation was GCW Parade. “What more one can expect from these colleges, which could not even field a team for the traditional game of kho-kho in the annual inter-college competitions”, commenting on the non-seriousness on part of the colleges an official of the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu told SAN.
Earlier, in the first semi-final of the day, the combined side of PG Departments of University of Jammu outplayed last year’s finalist Degree College Kathua 10-7. Earlier, in the first innings both sides had equal score of two points each.
Now, in the final, to be played tomorrow at 11 am on the campus, GCW Gandhi Nagar shall take on PG Departments to defend the title. |
