| Brief budget session mockery on democracy: Haresh Dev | | | Earl Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 19 Terming the brief budget session, commencing from January, 7, a mockery with democracy, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party MLA and former education minister of the state, Hareshdev Singh said that the brief session of 21 days is not sufficient to raise the public related issues in the house. Addressing media persons on Wednesday, Harsh said that it would be very difficult to discuss on the important issues of public interest because of the short duration of time and describing the session as 'no scope for public interest issues'. Expressing dissatisfaction over the coming budget session, he said that in 21 days of session, governor of the state will address on the first four days and during remaining 17 days, grants of 29 departments are to be discussed besides 80 private members bills including thirty pending bills of last year. "If 100 resolutions were accepted, it would provide us one day's time to discuss over these resolutions which is almost impossible", he said. Making dig on the present coalition government, Hareshdev Singh said that government is not ready to face the opposition and with the result they want to finish the budget session very soon, however he added that panther's party are in touch with other opposition parties relating this matter. He further said that National level consesus stresses for hundred day budget session for every state of the country, which is being implemented every where but unfortunately our state is not following these rules and regulations Earlier the budget session lasted for 40-45 days but this year government has slashed the time span for the reasons better known to them, he said. Maintaining that he would raise the issue with Bussiness Advisory Committee of the state assembly, he said that government does not want to face the opposition as a result of which it has curtailed the periodicity of budget session.
