Excise employees protest enter day 35
8/22/2006 11:02:37 PM
The protest demonstration of All J&K Excise and Commercial Taxation Employees (C-IV) has passed its 35th day today, and the Govt. is paying no heed to them. The employees are becoming hopeless about the sense of justice as well as mercy, day by day, blaming it of vendetta, favouritism and inhuman behavior.
The employees, in their bitterness and anguish, blame the government of turning them into paupers and beggars, of leading their families to penury taking them and their family to near extinction.
If an elected government employed them u/r or otherwise, allegedly, why should the employees suffer ? they ask. Where shall they go after serving the department
For eight long years ? If the govrrnment can not give them back eight years of their youthful life during which their services were exploited, why should their services be terminated ?
They have repeated their appeal to the chief minister to look into the matter sympathetically and refer their cases to the House Committee constituted under rules otherwise they will be compelled to take to streets, they threatened.
