| RDCC enters semis of Champions Trophy | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 21 Hat trick by Vijay Sharma and unbeaten 38 from Guru Pratap today guided Rahul Dogra Cricket Club (RDCC) to eight wickets victory over BACC in the 5th JK Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament underway at GGM Science College ground, here. With today’s victory, RDCC joined the Press Club XI in the semi-finals. Earlier, hat trick by Vijay Sharma stalled the BACC proceedings towards a competitive total and reduced the side to a small score of 99 in 22.3 overs of the 25 overs match. In reply, Guru Pratap made unbeaten 38 to make it an easy victory after RDCC reached the required total of 100 runs in just 15 overs with eight wickets in hand. Gourav remained the top scorer from BACC with 18 runs while Arun and Jatin contributed 14 runs each. From RDCC, Anoop, Guru Partap and Pankaj Sasan shared two wickets each. Batting second, RDCC reached the target in 15 overs for the loss of two wickets. Besides Guru Pratap 38), Pankaj Sasan also did a fine job making 27 runs. Ved added valuable 14 runs. Vicky and Nitin bagged one wicket each from BACC. Later, Vijay Sharma was declared man of the match for first hat trick of the tournament. Meanwhile, according to the organizing secretary of the tournament, the remaining two quarterfinals shall be played between Singh Cricket Club and Stadium XI while Trikuta Cricket Club shall meet Ali’s Cricket Club.
