| Eid celebrated with religious fervour, thousands offer Eid Nimaz | | | Early Times Reporter

Eid- ul- Azha was celebrated with great enthusiasm, religious fervour and gaiety in Doda district here today. A main function was held at Doda town where thousands of people from the town and adjoining areas offered Eid Nimaz.
Addressing the congregation, Imam of Jamia Masjid Doda Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, felicitating all the Muslims on the auspicious occasion of Eid, hoped the festival would usher in a new era of peace, prosperity and brotherhood.
Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated in commemoration of Profit Abrahim's grand sacrifice of his beloved son Ismail on the altar. Allah, however, replaced Ismail by a goat, lambs and other bovine animals, which are sacrificed by slaughtering by Muslims all over the world Meanwhile, Patron YSCC Doda Manzoor Ahmed Batt has also extended warm greetings to the people of J&K on the occasion of Eid-ul-zuha and hoped that the festival would herald a new beginning of peace and prosperity in the state
Reports about celebration of Eid are also pouring in from various other areas including Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal and Batote. |
