| BJP flays Narayanan’s remarks over Indo Pak relations | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu Dec 21 State BJP today said it was perturbed by the statement given by national security advisor N K Narayanan wherein he had said that something was cooking up between Indian and Pakistan as far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned and that Government of India would like to do business with Pakistan. In a press statement, issued here today, state BJP president Ashok Khajuria said that his party would like to makes it loud and clear that it regards Pervez Musharraf as the father of terrorism and the one who has been bleeding India by a thousand cuts and hence it opposes all the disturbing suggestions of Narayanan, who represents the Congress-led UPA government’s line on Jammu and Kashmir. “The BJP also takes this opportunity to denounce the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister for their soft approach towards Islamic terrorism,” he asserted. “It is strange that while the Prime Minister has been talking of crippling naxalites and countering red terrorism, Naryanan is condoning the sins and crimes of radical Islamists, the BJP leader stated. He underlined that the BJP believes that the need of the time is to crush terrorism used as a political weapon by the leftists and right-wing Islamists and that this could be possible only if the Union Government follows the US Model and enact a stringent anti-terror law. Further, he said that the BJP makes it abundantly clear that it would accept only solution to the so-called Kashmir problem that rejects the politics of religious fundamentalism and separatism, crushes terrorism ruthlessly, integrates Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country fully, reintegrates the Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan with this part of the state, abrogates Article 370 and reorganizes the state on provincial basis and entitles the internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus to lead a dignified life in a dispensation of their choice within the valley. Referring to the forest corporation issue that kept the blame game simmering in the state politics, Khajuria said that the BJP considers it appropriate not to make any comment on the decision of the State Government to suspend certain officials from State Forest Corporation on the charges of corrupt practices and the circumstances under which the suspended official has approached the State High Court challenging the decision of the state government. It is for the court to decide. However, the BJP as an opposition party does have the right to endorse the charge leveled by the said suspended official that the Chief Minister’s three brothers are deeply involved in the corrupt practices and are responsible for looting and plundering the green gold, for which the Doda district is well known, he added. The BJP would like the State Chief Minister to initiate legal proceedings against his own brothers as well. The best course for him would be to hand over the entire case to the CBI for a comprehensive inquiry, concluding his statement Khajuria said. |
