Vijayshwar Panchang 2008-2009 edition released

Vijayshwar Panchang 2008-2009 edition was released in an impressive function organized by Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanskrit Shodh Sansthan here on Saturday.
Highlighting the utility of Panchang, Omkar Nath Shastri, President of Sansthan said that
The book is the part of Kashmir culture since times immemorial and it has been a guide for the community people.
" The records available with the Sanastha show that the first edition of Panchang came out some 324 years ago but I am sure that it has appeared much prior which can not be proven due to non availability of records," Shastri Said.
Minister of Rural Development, Jugal Kishore praised the hard work being done by the Sanstha in coming up with the edition on yearly basis.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Congress, Ashok Sharma, who was Chief guest on the occasion said that the vijayshwar Panchang is not only useful for Kashmiri community but all those who believe in the science of numerology.
Relief Commissioner, Mr. Vinod Koul, on the occasion said that the Panchang is not only the 'guideline' but keeping in view the indepth information regarding the culture of community, it has become 'lifeline'for which Sanastha deserves all the praise. . Stressing for preservation of culture, Vinod Koul said that last twenty years have seen degradation in culture and there is a need for conducting seminars to aware the masses, especially younger generation about the importance of Panchang.
Earlier, Omkar Nath Shastri in his inaugural speech chanted a hymn from Rig-veda for universal peace and tranqulity.
Others who spoke on the occasion included, Pawan Shastri, Prof. Bhushan Koul and M.L Koul.
