| All India (IPSC) band competition concluded | | Sainik Schools play pivotal role in shaping the future of the country: Jora | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 23 Sainik Schools play vital role in shaping the future of students to occupy high positions in civil and defence services to serve the nation which is imperative in the present scenario when these services lack the required number of Officers. This was stated by Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora at the valedictory function of First All India Indian Public Schools Conference ( IPSC) Band Competition around 20 kilometers from here at Sainik School Nagrota. Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Jora who himself remained a student of Sainik School Chhitorgarh said that Sainik Schools ensure overall personality development of a student including academic and Co-curricular. This enable the students to face all impending challenges of globalized era braverly and successfully. Recalling his days spent at his alma mater, he has drown in a ocean of Nostalgia and said but he is today is only due to education he got in the Sainik School. The Minister appreciated the efforts of the School Principal Capt. V.T. Parnaik for organizing such a mega event in the school and hoped that holding of such competition will instill a spirit of courage to face the challenges among the students. Appreciating participation of female cadets in the competition, Mr. Jora said that the world of today’s female has its new dimension and now the women are counterparts in every field of life. During the event, four schools namely Sainik School Kunjpura(Haryana), Sainik School Kapurthala(Punjab), Mann Public School, New Delhi and hosted Sainik School Nagrota participated in the competition. Sainik School Nagrota and Sainik School Kapurthala were adjudged best in pipe band and brass band.The best band Capitan award was presented to Master Harsh Bansal of Mann Public School, New Delhi. The music of wonderful melodious and enchanting words “Sare Jahan se achha Hindustan hamara” performed by Kapurthalla School was highly applauded by the audiences.The J&K Police band also presented a special concerts on the occasion. Later, Mr. Jora gave away the trophies and consolation prizes among the participants and appreciated the performance of the teams and their competitive spirit. Earlier, the Minister released multilingual school magazine “Chinar” on the occasion. Meanwhile, Mr. Jora released balloons as a mark of beginning of the event. Among others, Teachers, students, parents and prominent citizens also graced the occasion. |
