| DDC Kathua reviews Roshni Scheme | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 22 District Development Commissioner, Kathua Sarita Chauhan today convened a meeting of officers to review the progress of implementation of Roshni Scheme in the district. Chouhan enjoined upon the revenue officers to scrutinize the applications received and prepare the requisite papers for prospective owners so that all the willful farmers can get the ownership rights at the earliest. It was apprised in the meeting that a total of 4786 applications were received in Tehsil Hiranagar, out of which, ownership rights were conferred to 3460 farmers, while rest of the applications were rejected or disputed. Similarly, in Tehsil Billawar 2236 applications were received out of which ownership rights were conferred to 994 persons, rest of the applications are rejected or disputed. In Tehsil Basholi, 852 persons applied for ownership rights, out of which, 427 persons were found eligible. Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner asked the beneficiaries of the Roshni scheme of Tehsil Hiranagar to assemble at Hiranagar to get their ownership rights. |
