NCC cadet to join RD camp: marching on Rajpath is my childhood dream

20 year NCC cadet Mohd Abdullah Qurashi, is eagerly awaiting to join the annual Republic day celebrations in New Delhi to realize his child hood dream of marching on Rajpath in sync with soldiers of the Indian armed forces.
Qurashi is one of the decorated cadets among several other young boys and girls who will be visiting New Delhi as part of annual Republic day celebrations from Jammu.
Talking to Kashmir Independent Press here today Qurashi, student of Govt MAM College, said he along with three other students of MAM College are part of J&K contigent visiting New Delhi for the annual camp. He said ever since he joined NCC he had set himself a target of joining RD parade and was working hard to realize his dream.
Qurashi said,” I am eagerly looking forward to march on the Rajpath and salute supreme army commander of the Nation.
He said, though the names of cadets marching on the Rajpath will be cleared after a grilling training and screening session in New Delhi but I am hopeful I will make it to the final tally.
Qurashi said it was my childhood dream and now I am eagerly awaiting for the big day in my life. He said armed forces as a career option always fascinated him since childhood. I give credit to my parents who painstakingly nurtured my career and groomed me all the way. They never pushed me to do a particular thing they always leave the final choice and decision to me so that I can learnt to handle responsibilities,young Qurashi beaming with pride said.
When it came to appearing for the RD camp selection my father motivated me to take up the challenge. He said since he had attended several national camps and had won laurels for the state in the last six years he was selected by the expert panel to represent the state. Before being selected for the RD camp, Qurashi said he attended two National Integration camps in Jammu and Kurukshetra, All India Thal Sainik camp on two occasions in 2005, 2007 where he was contingent commander.
He is also an ace shooter, theatre actor,and boxing player.
