| Foreign LeT militant gunned down in encounter at Gool | | | Early Times Reporter

ONE FOREIGN militant of LeT outfit was gunned down in an encounter with the police and security forces at Hara Gool in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gool in newly created Ramban district.
Acting on a specific information about the presence of the militants in the area, SSR/STF and 58 RR launched a joint operation and cordoned off the area. On noticing the presence of security forces, the militant fired upon the search party which was effectively replied. In the ensuing gun battle lasting for nearly half an hour one militant owing allegiance to LeT outfit and identified as Abu Umar of Pakistan occupied Kashmir were gunned down on the spot.
During the search the forces recovered one AK rifle with three magazines and five rounds, one pouch and one hand grenade was recovered from the possession of the slain militant. The search operation was still on when the reports last came in. |
