Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 23 A workshop on ‘Stress Management curable through yoga and Ayureda was organized by Akhand Yoga today. The camp was 16th day workshop under ‘the secret of true living. The camp was attended by a large number of people suffering from various types of stress-borne diseases, like heart disease, high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, auto-Immune disorders and allergy. Addressing the gathering Pawanesh Abrol University of Jammu, said, “Modern-day living has forced most of us to lead stressful lives which makes us fall stick. It Kills people prematurely. We need to take immediate corrective measures to address this menace or it is likely to take a substantial toll in many ways.” Throwing light on the social implications of mental stress, Sunita Bangotra, a social activist, said, “Mental stress affects the society in scores of ways. An ever-increasing number of stressed individuals are a major cause of lowered productivity and progress in any society or nation. Underscoring the need to lower mental stress in women, Dr. Rashi Abrol, observed, “the incidence of mental stress in working women has increased tremendously during the twenty first century. It is unprecedented. We sure need some efficient system to manage it. Explaining the basics of mental stress, including its incidence, identification, role in the production of diseases, and techniques for its management, Dr. Sunil Vasishth, founder of Akhand Yoga and cardiologist (Ayurveda) said, “Undoubtedly, stress affects adversely the physical, mental social, intellectual, emotional, economic, and spiritual lives of people. Yet, it is not difficult to manage it if one adopts simple habits in life, like exercising half an hour a day, eating healthy foods, maintaining ideal body weight, developing a positive mental dedication, having a definite purpose in life and then staying glued to it, adopting a moderate attitude towards everything doing away with unnecessary fears, maintaining honesty and genuineness in relations, and an effective management of time, money, people, and other resources available.” He further said, “Regular practice of Akhand Yoga techniques, like Oorja, Shakti Kriya, Shaktipata, and Akhand Samadhi help a person combat his mental stress and promote mental health a great deal.” A team of doctors including Dr.Vinod Sharma, Dr. Shashvita Abrol, and Dr. Nidhi Khajuria, conducted the general and dental check up of the patients. Shashi Kanta Sawhney, a senior member of Akhand Yoga presided over the Workshop. Others who participated include Rekha Amla, Pawan Verma, Anu Kohli, A.R. Sagar, Rakesh Gupta, Rakesh Sawhney, Rattan Bangotra, and Sakshi Bajan, while Anuradha Puri, presented the vote of thanks. |
