| Cricket players’ body announces Pran Malhotra scholarship | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 24 Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Players Association (JKCA) in a meeting held here today has instituted cricket scholarship, presented to budding cricketers annually, in the name of veteran cricketer, Prof Pran Malhotra, who expired recently. Meeting this evening to condole the demise of first Ranji Trophy captain from Jammu, Pran Malhotra, the former first class cricketers and office bearers of the JKCA decided to institute scholarship in the name of dedicated cricketer. The meeting was chaired by Association president, Vivek Sharma and attended besides others by senior vice-president, Ranjit Kalra, Sandeep Singh Sunny, Ravi Dogra and Surinder Singh Bagal. As the practice is the JKCPA every year award scholarship to the budding cricketers and those former cricketers who are in need of a help. “The recipients of the scholarships during the last two years are upcoming cricketer, Ram Dayal and cricket coach, Raj Kumar,” Ranjit Kalra told SAN. Earlier, the members of JKCPA recalled the services of Pran Malhtora terming him a true lover of the game of cricket in J&K. |
