| CM among others greet people on Christmas | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 24 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has felicitated the people on Christmas, hoping that the auspicious occasion would herald peace and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir. In a message of greetings, the Chief Minister said that Jesus Christ whose birthday is celebrated as Christmas around the world, was an apostle of peace who preached love, brotherhood and affection and cared for poor, downtrodden and needy people. Chief Minister said that by virtue of his teachings Jesus Christ is revered by people of all faiths. He said by adopting the path shown by him the mankind could achieve salvation and rid the world of hatred and enmity, the scourges afflicting the global society today. He said his teachings are more relevant in present day global scenario where materialism and selfishness are overtaking human values. Azad prayed for peace and prosperity of the State and hoped that this year’s Christmas would usher J&K into a new phase of progress and development. Mean while, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has also greeted the people on Christmas. In a message, the PDP Patron has said on this auspicious occasion, all of us must seek the divine blessings for peace, prosperity and happiness that would go with us all through the New Year. "May the blessings of God be with us so that all of us can live in peace and harmony," he said and added that the times are fast changing for the people f the State and a new dawn of joy is awaiting to descend in their lives. Senior PDP leader and Minister for Finance & Housing, Mr Tariq Hameed Karra has also felicitated the people of Christmas and New Year. |
