Jammu | Dec 25
Combined opposition in the state is up in arms against the coalition government for not convening crucial meeting of the Business advisory committee in order to smoothly conduct the budget session.
“On one hand the coalition govt has curtailed the duration of the budget session and on the other it is yet to convene meeting of the Business advisory committee to chalk out the mandatory details and take leaders of the opposition parties in to confidence about the working of the session”, a senior National conference leader said here today.
Leader of the opposition in the house Abdul Rahim Rather has already expressed his anguish over the short duration of the session.
”It is a mockery, the coalition government has lost credibility and hence making every possible effort to avoid the opposition for longer duration in the house. They want to save their skin and do not want to give us enough time and leverage where we can expose them in the eyes of the electorate whom they voted for”, a pathers party leader said.
“We are also hoping to see the real face of opposition National conference in the forthcoming budget session, Balwant Singh Mankotia said admitting that during previous sessions the National conference adopted soft approach towards the congress and only targeted PDP ministers over their failures. He said after losing Poonch By-poll the National conference leadership must be tutoring its legislators on how to corner the coalition govt in the house. Mankotia said, four legislators of the Panthers party will fight for the just issues related to the common people and pressurize govt to deliver on assurances given on the floor of the house. National conference leader Ajay Sadhotra made it clear that the party will raise the issue of unemployment, border migrants, old age pensioners and other related issues to corner the coalition government in the house. He said we are waiting for the session where we can test the claims of the coalition govt in black an white.
