Led by NC senior leader Surjit Singh Salathia, a large number of residents of Bari Brahamna today protested against National Highway Authority that has been erecting fence along the highway. Salathia talking told Early Times that earlier National Highway Authority had put the people of Bari Brahmana into hardships by destroying their shops as they erected fences along the road.
He said the authority had assured the people that it would leave three hundred meter space for route but it was constructing fence without adhering to its commitment. People blocked the road for about three hours. Salathia seeking CM’s intervention in the matter said if fencing along the road on outskirts of Bari Brahmana is completed it will ruin them as their business establishments be destroyed. Besides, the routes leading to cremation ground and Govt Girls Hr. Sec School besides PHB Deptt will be disconnected, causing hardships to the people. |
