| X-mass celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 25 Like other parts of the Country, Christmas was celebrated here on Tuesday with people from all walks of life thronging in large numbers to pay their obeisance at various churches across the city. Churches where decorated and illuminated early from the morning hours and people were seen standing in large queues near churches to obtain the blessings of Jesus Christ. Thousands of devotes were seen paying obeisance at St. Mary's Garrison Church Gandhi Nagar through out day where the special prayers were held for the universal peace and brotherhood. Children were seen gathering in and around Santa Claus and demanding Toffees from them. The market places of the city also wore a decorative look with dummies of Santa Claus and X-mass trees kept for attraction and as good omen. St. Paul's church at Wazarat Road was also embellished for the day and people from all walks of life were seen praying for the welfare and prosperity. Similar kind of prayers was offered at Roman Catholic Church Pream Nagar, Pentecostal Mission Church Christian Colony, Panjatirthi Church and other Churches across the city. |
