| Banks achieve 61 percent performance | | | Early Times Reporter Udhampur | Dec 26 The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. J.L.Sharma chaired the DLRC-cum-DCC meeting convened by the Lead Bank SBI, Udhampur to review the achievements of banks under Annual Action Plan 2007-08, here today. Lead District Officer, Reserve Bank of India, Kaki Koul, Lead District Manager, Udhampur, S.K.Gupta, District Development Manager NABARD, Rattan Lal, Assistant Project Director, DRDA, R.R Sharma, AGM J&K Bank, Mohammad Ibrahim Malik, other senior bankers and district officers also participated. The Lead District Manager apprised the house that the State Bank of India in Udhampur district has disbursed Rs.10.75 crore against the target of Rs.7.18 crore up to the September, 2007 under Annual Action Plan. The Punjab National Bank has achieved 78 percent of their annual target. The over all performance of the banks in the district up to ending September, 2007 remained 61 percent. It was also informed that Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio has increased by 9 per cent during first half of the current fiscal. The achievement of the banks under priority sector was reported to be more than stipulated target of 40 per cent. The performance of the banks under various government sponsored programmes was also reviewed in the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner addressing the meeting exhorted upon the bankers and officers of Line Departments to make concerted efforts to achieve the target under Annual Action Plan for the year 2007-08. He also advised the officers of line departments to extend full cooperation in recovery of over dues of loans already granted to beneficiaries by the banks for better recycling of funds. The house also approved the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for Udhampur district for the year 2008-09 presented by DDM, NABARD. |
