Lok Adalat settles 39 cases

A Lok Adalat was held here today under the Chairmanship of District Legal Service Authority, Pr. District and Session Judge Jammu Mr Janak Raj Kotwal.
In the Lok Adalat two benches were constituted.
First bench was headed by Chairman District Legal Service Authority who was assisted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Jammu Mr R S Jain to deal with MACT and Bank cases, 59 cases of MACT and 13 Bank cases were taken up.14 cases included 4 bank cases were settled and compensation worth Rs.19.35 lakh was realized.
Second bench was headed by Additional District Judge Jammu, Bank Cases Court Jammu Mr Shakti Gupta who was assisted by Ist Additional District and Sessions Judge Jammu Mr Puneet Gupta. 61 MACT cases were taken up, out of which 25 cases were settled and Rs.43.67 lakh fine was realized.
The next Lok Adalat will be held on January 7, 2008.
