| Air service from Kargil to Jammu and back | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 26 Kargilites would have another good tidings besides a New Year when they wake up for the first day of 2008, with government and Indian Air Force having decided to commence weekly air service of AN-32 Courier/Passenger service from Jammu to Kargil and back. Decision to this effect was taken today at a high level meeting presided over by the Minister for Social Welfare and MLA Kargil Haji Nissar Ali which among others was attended by Director Airport Authority of India, Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Wing Commander IAF, SSP AHJ Jammu Airport, Liaison Officer AN 32 courier service Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Jammu. It was decided that tickets for the interested passengers shall be issued from Kargil House Jammu 48 hours before the time of flight. Director Airport Authority assured all possible support in respect of issuing of passes to the staff and other concerned persons. Haji Nissar Ali while claiming it a significant event for Kargilites said that the commencement of this service will go a long way in easing out the climatic hurdles that hitherto had come in way for Kargilites moving out of their places to outside world during the colder parts of the year. |
