| Starplus selects Natrang ‘Anjali’ for Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 26 The ‘Dulhan’ of Natrang highly acclaimed dogri play ‘Ghumayee’ Miss Anjali Abrol has been selected by the star plus lead roles in three of their daily soups. Her first serial ‘Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat’ will hit TV screens on prime time from 29th December. Jubilant over this success Natrang director Balwant Thakur said Anjali is going to be first girl from the state of J&K to play lead roles in highly popular satellite T.V. channel. Anjali joined Narang in 2004 when she was selected to do the lead role of Dulhan in ‘Ghumaye’. She has the distinction of having performed ‘Ghumaye’ various national theatre festivals including at Mumbai, Kolkatta, Bharampur (West Bengal) Bhuvneshwar, Delhi and Chandigarh. Last she performed Ghumaye at Katra during Navratra festival 2007. She also performed in ‘Bawa Jitto’ ‘Kanjoos’ ‘Holi’ ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ Natak Nahien’ ‘Sab Chakkar Hai’ and ‘Mahabhoj’. Gifted with multifarious talents Anjali has been an accomplished dancer too. In fact she was spotted by Balwant in a dance performance where he identified her for the lead role of Ghumaye. After intense training in acting at Natrang she surprised everyone when she first performed ‘Ghumaye’ at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. As dancer she participated in Natrang’s much acclaimed programmes like ‘Jashan-e-Kashmir’ and ‘J&K Utsav’ at Delhi in India international trade fair-2006. Her selection is seen as a big boost to the acting talent of Jammu and will inspire many young aspirants to join theatre which is going to be one of the most sought after profession in the coming years. |
