Rs. 1.94 Cr being spent on Anganwari centres

During the current financial year an amount of Rs. 1.94 cr. Are being spent on 278 Anganwari centres functioning in district Leh, benefiting 6483 beneficiaries, which conclude nursing mothers, infant children pregnant ladies.
Nodal officer integrated child development project Tsering Samdup said that 77 Anganwari centres have opened in Leh, while 72 Anganwari centres are working in Nurba. 65 centres are opened in Khaltisi sub-division, while 37 centres in Nyoma block, 21 centres in Durbuk Block and 26 centres are in Kharu Block. He said Rs. 54 lacs are being spent on nutritious foods during the current years and added as per decision of hill council in 2003, the Anganwari centres are clubbed with primary and middle school existing in the vicinity of Anganwari centre. Thus, this way Anganwari centres are functioning efficiently and the infants are getting pre schooling also, he added.
