This was urged by PDP General Secretary Murtaza Khan while addressing an impressive crowd here in the border town of Mendhar today. Stressing his demand to reopen the Tattapani (Mendhar) crossing point which was closed some 18 months ago as a portion of the road leading to the point was washed away by rains, he said that “the road has been since repaired but the point has not been reopened” adding that “largest number of divided families in the entire region reside in Mendhar, hence both the governments must take necessary steps to reopen the crossing point to make the journey trouble-fee”. Khan also urged that number of pending applications seeking LoC Permit is increasing day by day due to unwarranted hiccups and delaying tactics at certain levels which be removed by both the Governments to make the exercise more meaningful.
