| Speaker reviews security arrangements ahead of budget session | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 27 Seeking support of various state govt agencies for the smooth conduct of the Budget Session of State Legislature commencing from January 7, speaker of the state Assembly Tara Chand on Thursday directed heads of various departments to work in tandem in order to avoid any inconvenience to legislators, senior administrative and police officials and secretariat staff, media persons and others during the session. Addressing the meeting, the Speaker asked all the concerned agencies to make foolproof security and other related arrangements well in advance so that the legislators are not put to any inconvenience. During the meeting the police department was directed to review the security arrangements both outside and inside the assembly premises and plug loopholes, if any. Speaker directed the senior police officials to ensure no unidentified individual gains access inside the secretariat building . Senior traffic police authorities were directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads leading to the Legislature complex and MLA Hostel, Jammu during the session. Keeping in view the adverse weather conditions a team of the Health Department has been entrusted to provide adequate medical facilities along with the life saving drugs oxygen and two well equipped ambulances besides a team of physician specialists within Assembly Complex and MLA Hostel, Jammu. Similarly, the Fire Services would make adequate provision of fire fighting tankers within the Secretariat premises besides, checking fire hydrants within the Assembly premises and MLA Hostel, Jammu. To ensure uninterrupted supply of power and drinking water, the PDD and PHE departments has been asked to make necessary arrangements before the commencement of the session. Similarly, the Municipality and Floriculture departments will deploy staff to keep the lawns, corridors, Assembly complex parks neat and clean. |
