| SIKHS protest JAIPUR incident | | |
Jammu,August 23 : Several hundred Sikh youths staged demonstration in Jammu on Wednesday in protest against cutting of hair of a Sikh student in a school in Rajasthan.
The protest demonstration was organised by Deshmesh
youth organisation.The protesters set ablaze truck
tyres while giving vent to their anger. The agitating persons were demanding speedy action against those students who had
committed the sacrilege.
The protesters went into a procession shouting
slogans against the Rajasthan Government for not
arresting the "criminals."Hardeep Singh
Khalsa,president of the organisation said "we demand
immediate action against the guilty students."
Gurpreet Singh and Amrit Pal singh,two
protesters,said that "if the guilty students were not
arrested within 24 hours we will take to the streets
and paralyse normal life. Businessmen in Nanak Nagar area downed their shutters and observed bandh demanding stern action against the guity.
Meanwhile leaders of state unit of the Gurudwara Prabandhk committee also expressed deep shock over the incident and demanded guilty should be punished for their shameful act. |
