| CBWE holds programme for parents of child labourers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 27 Central Board for Workers Education, (CBWE) a unit of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Jammu has conducted 2 days programme for the parents of child labour at village Bain, Block Parmandal, Jammu. Sansar Chand, Social Worker, People Democratic Party inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address he said that child labour is a burning issue at present time. Workers Education is spreading the information and education to eradicate the child labour problem. 39 workers were enrolled during the programme. The participants were involved in group discussion. How the children are facing the problems in early age physically and psychologically and the parents realized the problems of children during the discussions. During two days of the programme other subjects were discussed viz. concept of social security, central and state welfare schemes, health & hygiene, family budget, parents responsibility towards the children, and self help group formation. The programme was concluded by Chief Guest Sh. Jamat Ali Bhatti, social worker and PDP activist. In his concluding address, Mr. Bhatti lauded the role of CBWE and vote for support to Workers Education Scheme for conducting the programme for the parents of Child Labour making aware to the parents towards the responsibility of children. Various other prominent personalities also spoke during the concluding function. Baldev Krishan, Panch of village Kuppar, Sh. Madan Lal Thapa, Sh. Bishan Dass, President Youth Wing, Nagrota and Sh. Raj Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion. The participants of the programme were paid Rs. 150/- by the Central Board for Workers Education, Jammu for two days. |
