B L KAK NEW DELHI, AUG. 23: The Shiv Sena has for a change offered purely non-political, non-communal data in relation to the per minute income of a group of India's celebrities and VIPs. The Shiv Sena supremo, Bal Thackeray, was reported to have gone through the details before they were printed and published by Saamna. This publication from Mumbai needs no introduction, for it is the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena. If the figures made available by the Shiv Sena publication were to be believed, India's two highest constitutional personalities-- President, APJ Abdul Kalam, and Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh-- are paupers compared to some of the riches persons in the country. It is a different matter that President Kalam is beter off than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Kalam's oer minute income is Rs 1.14, as against the Prime Minister's 57 paise per minute. Cricket 'king' Sachin Tendulkar tops the list of those who earn thousands of rupees per minute. According to the Saamna report, Sachin earns Rs 1,163 in one minute. Two Bollywood kings, Amitabh Bachhan and Shah Rukh Khan, are also far ahead of our beloved President and Prime Minister. Amitabh's per minute income is Rs 361 as against Shah Rukh's per minute income of Rs 247. According to the Shiv Sena publication, Mukesh Ambani got a salary of Rs 21.72 crores last year. The amount did not include any of his other perks, Saamna pointed out. In other words, Mukesh Ambani's per minute income is Rs 413 per minute. The Shiv Sena publication has arived at these figures this way: Sachin Tendulkar has tied up with an agency for an advertisement campaign which pays him Rs 180 crores poer annum. He gets Rs 2,35,000 per game for a Test series. Sachin gets Rs 2,50,000 in the event of a one-day match. In a year, his income has been put at Rs 61.15 crores, which comes to Rs 1,163 per minute. According to Saamna, Amitabh Bachchan earned Rs 19 crores in 2005 through Cadbury, Pepsi and his superhit movies. It comes to Rs 361 per minute. On the basis of his bank balance, Shah Rukh Khan's income during 2005 stood at Rs 13 crores, thereby making his earnings Rs 247 per minute. |
