| Way to examination center, student shot dead | | | Early Times Reporter Baramulla | Dec 27 With sudden spurt in killings of students by unidentified gunmen in North Kashmir, yet another student of 12 th class was shot dead by unknown gun-men at Pattan township of Baramulla district in North Kashmir. During the last two months more than five students were killed and no militant organization has claimed the responsibility so far, however police recently claimed that it has arrested some persons having involvement with a militant out fit on whose behest the students in Baramulla district were killed. Sources told that the deceased student was on his way to examination center when he was shot at from point blank range near Block Development office gate in Pattan Identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Rather, son of Asadullah Rather, resident of Anchanderhama Magam, the deceased was presently putting up at Palhallan Pattan village and was a student of 10+2 in Higher Secondary School Pattan, sources added. Sources further said that a Roll number slip was recovered from the possession of deceased student. They said that the body of the deceased was taken into custody for postmortem and later will be handed over to the family members for last rights. A case has been registered with police station Pattan and investigations were taken up. |
