The state unit of the BJP on Friday celebrated party victory in neighboring Himanchal Pradesh by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
Since morning as trends started pouring in and BJP tally increased upbeat workers started celebrating inside party headquarters. Around 12.00 p.m when it became evident that party had crossed half way mark
and is comfortably poised to form the next government in hilly state large number of BJP workers came out on the streets dancing to the tune of drum beats. The party workers also burst crackers and distributed sweets to celebrate the major victory of the party in Himanchal Pradesh close on the heels of recording unprecedented win in Gujarat polls.
On the occasion state BJP chief Ashok Khajuria accompanied by other local leaders congratulated party workers and expressed hope that after winning the state of Himanchal Pradesh the party would focus all its energies on Jammu and Kashmir to win maximum seats so that BJP can play crucial role in the formation of next state government in the state.
“Since elections in J&K are due in 2008 the twin victories in Gujarat and Himanchal Pradesh had galvanized party workers infusing new lease of life in them as they are smelling victory for the party candidates in polls” a senior BJP leader said acknowledging the need to gear up the party machinery in advance for better poll results here in the state. |
