| Governing body (DRDA) approves credit plan for 2007-08 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 28 36th Governing Body meeting of District Rural Development Agency was convened at Jammu here today. Member Parliament S. Trilok Singh Bajwa, MLA Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Bishnah, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, MLC, R. S. Chib, Project Director DRDA, Charanjeet Singh, senior officers from RDD, Lead Bank, NABARD and Block Development Officers of various blocks of Jammu District were present in the meeting. While giving brief resume of last year achievements, Project Director Charnajeet Singh said that during 2006-07 out of total allocation of Rs. 81.68 lakh, an amount of Rs. 72.29 lakh was incurred under SGSY. He said that 377 individual beneficiaries cases were sanctioned and 5 Self-Help Groups were financed. Under DRDA Administration during 2006-07 out of total allocation of Rs. 75.52 lakh, an amount of Rs. 58.21 lakh was incurred. He said that National Employment Guarantee Act has been further extended to 130 more districts of the country and Jammu district has also been included under the scheme during 2007-08. Mr. Singh said that during the current financial year, the plan of 1208.09 lakh has been prepared for providing 10.355 lakh man-days as 866 number of works have also been proposed. To start the programme Government of India has released an amount of Rs. 1158 lakh as seed money while the state government has also released its share to extend of Rs. 109.17 lakh. Member Parliament S. Tirlok Singh Bajwa, MLAs Sham Lal Sharma, Ashwani Kumar and MLC R. S. Chib also spoke on the occasion and stressed upon the implementing agencies to work with dedication and devotion so that benefits of scheme could reach to the people on grass root level. Later the Advisory Board Member approved the Annual Credit Plan for 2007-08 to the tune of Rs. 103.11 lakh under SGSY, Rs 99.80 lakh under DRDA Administration and Rs. 12.57 lakh under NREGA. |
