Development of all areas would be on priority Jugal

The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Jugal Kishore Sharma has said that development of all the areas of the state including Reasi constituency is the first priority of our government to percolate the benefits of all development schemes at the door steps of common masses.
The Minister was speaking at a largely attended public meeting at village Bharakh in Pouni block of the Reasi district today. The Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, B.A.Saraf, Tehsildar, R.C.Tripathy, Executive Engineer, R&B, PHE, Project Officer, DPAP, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Block Development Officer, Pouni, ex Sarpanches, panches, prominent people of the Bharakh and large number of general public including ladies also were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that due attention has been given to all 38 panchayats of Pouni block in percolating the benefits of development schemes. On the demand of general public of this area, 24 hand pumps have already been provided while on persistent demand, the Minister sanctioned 4 more hand pumps for Bharakh area. He assured the people that a project for construction of road from Shakti Nagar to village Bandhrai has already been sent for sanction. He however asked the engineers of R&B to start the work of this road. Mr. Sharma issued on the spot instructions to the Block Development Officer to review the block development plan as per the aspirations of the general public. He further disclosed that a new scheme NREGA is being started in the Reasi district from April Ist, 2008 where under all development works would be started at all the villages after due consultation with the general public by holding Gram Sabhas. He asked the general public to come forward and avail maximum benefits under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Under this scheme one hundred days guaranteed employment would be provided to every house hold every year.
The general public through their representatives put forth various demand which include provision of safe drining water, road connectivity, up gradation of high school Bharakh, irrigation facilities in Bhambla and Bharakh area, loan facility for setting up of dairies, development of horticulture and agriculture etc. The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the public that a number of demands have already been conceded while the remaining would be redressed in phased manner on priority. He exhorted upon the public to fully cooperate with the administration in implementation of development schemes in their areas by rising above the party line for collective benefits of general public of their respective areas.
