| Second Chenab bridge to be dedicated on Jan 15 | | Charak inspects ongoing works of Sidhra-Surinsar, Janipur-Akhnoor roads | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 29 Minister for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today conducted an extensive tour to Sidhra, Bain Bajalta, Janipur, Bhalwal, Barn, Ranjan, Agore and Akhnoor to inspect ongoing construction works on different roads. At Bain Bajalta, Mr. Charak inspected construction work of 38 kilometer long double lane road being completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 39.90 crore by December 2008. He asked the executing agencies to complete the ongoing construction work of Sidhra-Surinsar road within stipulated time frame. He asked them to remain present in their respective areas and personally monitor the quality of work. Interacting with the villagers, Mr Charak said that on completion of Sidhra-Surinsar road, the journey of the Mansar, Surinsar and Samba district would be reduced. He appealed the masses to cooperate with the development agencies so that construction work of the 38 kilometer road would be completed speedily within prescribed time frame. Mr. Charak also inspected the improvement and maintenance work of Janipur-Akhnoor road being completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.29 crore. He asked the R&B engineers to use quality material as there is no compromise on quality and complete it within stipulated time frame so that the people do not face any inconvenience. Later, the Minister visited Akhnoor and inspected the under execution work of 280 meter long and 12 meter broad 2nd bridge over Chenab river being completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 21.04 crore by January 15, 2008. Executive Engineer R&B Mr. K D Salai, Project Manager executing agency D2S Mr.R K Jain accompanied the Minister. |
