| Aziz assures all possible help for the development of Billawar | | President, Vice President of Billawar MC administrated oath | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 29 Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua Mr. Laj Ram today administrated the oath of office to newly elected president of Municipal Committee Billawar, Mr. Rakesh Chandel and vice president Mr. Badri Nath Mehra. In this connection a simple but impressive function was organized in the premises of Municipal Committee Billawar today. Minister of state for finance, Planning, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz was the chief guest on the occasion. Director local bodies Mr. G.A. Qureshi, Engineers of local bodies, DFO Billawar, Tehsildar Billawar, ex-MLA Th. Balbir Singh, committee members, leaders of the various political parties and large number of people including men and women were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz congratulated the newly elected president and vice president and exhorted upon them to work honestly and delicately for the development of the Billawar town without political consideration. He told them that God has given them the opportunity to serve the people so they should not lose this opportunity. He asked the committee members and the president to come up to the expectation of the people by solving their problems. He said that better development can be ensured with better planning. The Minister while responding to the demands announced Rs. 10 Lakh for the construction of lanes and drains in the town and the construction of office complexes at Billawar. He asked the concerned to prepare the project and assured all possible help in the regard. Mr. Aziz also announced 10 lakh for the construction of Niabat office at Bhaddu. Speaking on the occasion director local bodies Mr. J.A. Qureshi congratulated the newly elected president and vice president of the committee. Responding to the demand of construction of lanes and drains link roads Mr. Qureshi asked the local bodies officers to prepare the estimate as soon as possible so that funds are arranged for the purpose. Mr. Qureshi said that a project amounting to Rs. 26 crore is being formulated for the development of the Billawar town. On the demand of president municipal committee Mr. Qureshi sanctioned three flood lights for the town. Regarding removing of illegal encouragement Mr. Qureshi assured that these will be removed. Earlier Ex- MLA Th. Balbir Singh and locals projected various demands which include construction of lain and drains. Proper care of ancient Shiva temple at Billawar, removing encroachments made on government mandir land and providing of special package for the development of Billawar town. |
