In view of the Gurupurab procession to be taken out in memory of Guru Gobind Singh Ji on 3rd January, 2008, the District Development Commissioner Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh convened a meeting of officers here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Hemant Sharma, SSP Traffic Mr. S. A. Watali, RTO Mr. F. C. Bhagat, SP CID, SP Security and officers from Health, PDD, PHE, Municipality and representatives of Sikh community were present in the meeting.
It was decided that the procession will start from Gurudwara Maharani Chand Kour at 10 a.m,. and after passisng through Vivekanand Chowk, Gumat Bazar, Dogra Chowk, Tawi Bridge, Bikram Chowm, Gandhi Nagar will culminate at Nanak Nagar at 5 p.m.
The DDC instructed the officers to ensure adequate arrangements like un-interrupted supply of electricity, providing of drinking water, complete sanitation in and around Gurudwaras, procession roads and celebration venues.
On smooth flow of traffic, the DDC informed that three pre-paid taxi stands, one each at Railway Station, Bus Stand and Airport are coming up shortly to ease traffic chaos. |
